Marina was born in 1964 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. She arrived in Khotkovo
in 1983 to begin study at Abramtsevo Art Industrial College in in their ceramic
pottery program.
It was during this time, in the early eighties, that many professional artists
began using the matryoshka as a new form of high art. Marina introduced many new
ideas for this new form of art.
Marina has worked as a sculptor for Alexandra Company, producing exclusive dolls
of porcelain and owes her gratitude to its owner, Alexandra Koukinova, for the
experience.
Marina's work, both porcelain and wood, resides in private collections all over
the world. She is now an independent artist. |
