Svetlana Kameneva was born in 1971 in Tallinn, the capitol of Estonia. In 1985
she began art school at Abramtsevo, specializing in wood, bone and stone carving.
While there she became interested in jewelry design and now combines these
talents in her current work, matryoshki. Sveta works with many different
materials to produce her unique matryoshki, which contain a dressed porcelain
doll as the last piece.
In 2001 Svetlana was awarded the prize for Most Original Art Work at the
world-famous Vachtanov (Wachtanoff) Gallery's International Exhibition. She has
also attended and received awards from participation in exhibitions in
Dusseldorf and the Museum of National Art in Moscow. She is a member of the
Union of Artists of UNESCO. |
